WELCOME CENTER

HOW THE WELCOME CENTER OPERATES

The Hospitality House Welcome Center is open for the Fall/Winter season every day from 1:00 to 5:00PM providing meals for the homeless in our community, showers, laundry facilities, lunch and case manager appointments.

When open during the Winter Season, guests can meet at the Welcome Center where a charter bus takes them to the church hosting the shelter for that night.

Guests are invited to register each day. The registration process includes showing proof of TB testing (or signing up for TB testing), and signing up for chores. Adults must consent to random or suspicion-based drug testing as a condition of admittance to the shelter. All guests will be given a daily alcohol breath test. Any guest with a breath alcohol concentration of .08 or above will be given a written violation and suspension from the shelter. Guests testing below .08 will not receive a written violation, however they will be suspended for one night.

Guests can take showers, do some laundry, get hot or cold drinks and snacks, or just relax, read or watch TV. They can leave their belongings for the night in a bag or in a crate in a locked room.

Guests must agree to the house regulations their hosts expect them to observe while on their premises.

Our Welcome Center is that cute spanish-looking house located right next to the Grass Valley United Methodist Church, 236 South Church Street in Grass Valley.

We are thrilled to be given the privilege to operate in such a beautiful place, with room to relax, two bathrooms to take showers, laundry facilities, and more. Looks and feels like home!

But ... we have grown a lot and will need a new space soon.
