MEET OUR GUESTS
Who are our guests?
Photo courtesy of Esther Burnside. Dinners are provided by a different faith community every night (for a list of these excellent partners, please visit the Thank You page). Guest: "What I like now, is when I see someone out there, I can tell them, 'You don't have to sleep outside tonight, you can go to Hospitality House'. And then I see them coming through the front door at the Welcome Center, and all the stress and the frost melt from their faces." WHO ARE THE HOMELESS? They are people challenged by illness or injury, or both; by trauma of childhood or war, or both; by their own imperfect choices or those of others, or both. Or all of the above. Or they are the children of those people. Hospitality house offers a warm welcome, nourishing meals, access to medical and social services, and a peaceful night's rest to the homeless in western Nevada County.
